When Brandy first came to me as a temp foster, I was quite sure I knew all there was to know about the Doberman breed, personality,
temperament, etc. After all, my last two were abuse cases and we worked through that with no major problems. My first girl was a
Pedigree Princess that went all the way back to Peggy Adamson "The Guru of Properly Bred Dobermans”.
Miss Brandy has taught me how little I knew and she taught me quickly. I now know the true meaning of a high-prey drive, leash aggression,
barrier aggression and etc, etc. I know you all have heard these phrases many times over. Brandy also taught me something else; something I
knew about, but never get tired of hearing and that is "I Love You.” Its in her eyes when we have our quiet time in the evenings, when
she drapes her body across my thighs and lays her head on my chest.
It took many months before the distrust in her eyes was replaced by "love lights", but has it ever been worth it. With all the problems
we have to deal with, with family and just life in general, having been able to turn on the love lights in this precious girl has made my
time on earth worthwhile.
Thank you DAR&E for allowing my heart to feel full again after the loss of my Baby Jane. Brandy has given me purpose and reason to get up each day.
