DALLAS
Dallas came to DAR&E much like so many dobes. Dumped at the shelter because his owner didnt have time for him.
DAR&E was contacted and we were prepared to take him in. The shelter called back and Dallas had someone put an application on him.
The application fell thru when shelter felt this was not an appropriate
home and again called DAR&E. So, we agreed to take him. I had lost two dobes this pastsummer due to illness and agreed to foster Dallas (or
Bones as he was called at the shelter)
One of our volunteers was to pick him up but the morning this was to happen, shelter called again. Parvo outbreak and all dogs on lockdown
for 10-14 days.
From seeing his pictures sent from shelter to our surrender e-mail box, something was special about this boy. I had to meet him and so the
shelter let me come meet him. He was full of energy from just having to be kenneled but silly as can be.
They allowed me to pick him up finally and so he came to my home. I was head over heels but the test would be Kayla my red headed gal who
doesnt love other dogs.
She fell quickly and as hard as I did and from the moment they met its been non-stop playing. She tells him who's boss, but he doesnt mind.
They curl up together, play together and look so much alike its scary.
We adopted Dallas in Sept and he's fit like a glove.
Thank you DAR&E for giving us our 4th DAR&E "child"
