Adoption Process

Doberman Assistance, Rescue, and Education provides Doberman adoptions to loving and responsible people.  All potential adoptive families must read, adoption process FAQ, and then fill out our online adoption application.   We will review your application and will contact you about possible matches.

Where does the Adoption Fee go?

A Doberman Assistance, Rescue, and Education volunteer will visit your home prior to application approval; this visit allows potential adoptive parents to ask any questions that they may have as well as provides an opportunity for Doberman Assistance, Rescue, and Education to meet with the potential adoptive parent(s). All approved applicants must sign a Doberman Assistance, Rescue, and Education contract before adopting a Doberman.  Please read our Operating Guidelines for more information about adoption donations and other adoption issues, such as veterinary care. Where does the adoption fee go?
************************************

We do not adopt dogs outside of the DC Metro area (Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and DC). If you live outside this region, please go to Petfinder.com for a Doberman Rescue group or a homeless Doberman in a shelter near you.

What to do if you don't see a dog you're interested in right now ?? APPLY !!

The problem with waiting 'till you see your perfect dog on our website is that there are already approved homes waiting for that *perfect* dog to come in too. They'll probably get to that dog you see before you can apply and get your home visit scheduled. SO  APPLY NOW!!!
