About Arya

Arya is a very smart, fun loving black/tan dobie girl. She is a perfect do for someone wanting a puppy-like Dobie.

She has great energy but is unbridled. She was born July 2016.

She was an owner surrender. I got her out of the local animal shelter when a friend that volunteered there told me she was terrified and in need of a home. She appeared to had just birthed a litter. I rescued her without knowing her personality.  She is very loving and will be a great pet, but I am single, work many hours and busy. She requires more time, nurturing and training than I have available.

She loves to play catch and will leap up and grab tree branches for fun if bored and left in the backyard.

Arya is very petite at 50 pounds and she has difficulty putting on weight.

Her tail is docked and her ears cropped but do not stand.

She does not know how to hold in her excitement yet, she is like a 4 month old puppy, she barks, jumps and cries loudly when stimulated by people or dogs. She was not socialized well as a young pup. That energy also means she is not good on lead. She pulls, circles and only listens once tired out. Good group classes with a trainer would solve this.

She is all about having fun, a bit rough in her play. She is calm on car rides but in a city environment will bark at activities she observes.

Arya has learned to be a crate dog. She requires watching because when bored and not walked/played enough may chew on things she finds interesting so if no one home will be best left in the crate.

She is house broken. Arya has started to learn basic commands but needs more training.

Arya is very affectionate to my resident Doberman, 6 year old male. She does prefer to be dominate but licks his ears and enjoys sleeping on him. She is Not good around cats. She currently has too much excitement so jumps on people so I would not recommend her around children under 10 or unsure footed elderly folks. Arya would be best at a home with a fenced yard for play or a farm for her to run! Not an apartment dog.

I am looking to recover cost of adoption and spay I paid for since she had just arrived at the shelter and medicine purchased for a urinary infection after surgery: re-homing fee: $300 requested.
