Khan is a beautiful black and tan 3-year-old boy. He’s on the smaller side weighing in at 60 pounds. He has the classic Doberman look with cropped ears and a docked tail.
Khan’s appearance is striking, but his personality is what sets him apart from the crowd. He has a big heart and gets along with everyone, although he prefers male company. Khan also enjoys the presence of other dogs when properly introduced. He thrives with a four-legged companion. He lays with my current small bulldog, as well as my parent’s Pomeranians, and lets them steal bones without protest. He doesn’t mind cats but will try to play and chase if they run. Once you correct the behavior, he lays off and ignores them.
Saying Khan loves to be outside is an understatement. He’s a wonderful running, hiking, and walking companion. We have been working on walking on a leash because he does tend to pull, especially when he sees a rabbit or squirrel that is prime for chasing. Khan is happiest when he’s in a yard with someone playing fetch for long intervals. He has a lot of energy that needs to be burned with a solid romp session off leash.
On the other hand, he doesn’t mind laying around and having a good cuddle session. He will get up on the couch and bed but will wait until he’s been invited – always the perfect gentleman. He walks with an elegant, quiet grace throughout the house and only barks when he hears a knock on the door. He also barks when left in a crate. He has separation anxiety and can’t stand being away from his humans. Khan would prefer someone who is retired or works from home.
All in all, Khan would be a wonderful addition to any home. His loyalty and seriousness in protecting the people he loves is unparalleled. He is well socialized and can adapt to new environments quickly. Khan deserves a family that can give him all the love and affection he deserves.
Khan came from a family that was moving overseas and could not take Khan.
