Redds is a petite red/rust Doberman with cropped (but floppy) ears and a docked tail.
Redds is a sweetheart. Everyone she meets falls in love with her instantly! She is a true “velcro” Doberman and only wants to be close to you to be loved on.
Redds is 4 years old and is game to relax with you on the sofa or jump up for a walk or play session. She loves to tug and chase toys but hasn’t grasped the concept of bringing them back yet and she loves to roll in the grass! Give her a bone and she will chew contently.
Redds is quickly learning basic obedience commands like sit, down and come but is still working on stay/wait (She doesn’t want to be away from you!). Redds walks nicely on a leash, only needing a small correction here and there to remind her not to pull. She rides perfectly in the car, wearing a harness and seatbelt attachment, and is always on her best behavior out in public.
Redds is crate trained and will often go in just to nap. She occasionally whines or barks when she knows we are leaving but quickly quiets down with a correction or two.
She really is a smart girl and would make an excellent therapy dog.
She has been great for basic grooming such as brushing, ear cleaning, tooth brushing and nail trimming.
Redds currently lives with a cat in her foster home but will bark and chase it, so her forever home should be feline free. Her foster family has a 2 year old male Doberman and they get along well with proper supervision.
Redds enjoys playing with him but only on her terms and will tell him when she has had enough. She is good with dogs she meets outside if they are well behaved but has barked at dogs that were reactive towards her. She will probably be happiest with a family that has no other dogs so they can spoil her like the princess that she is!
Redds happily lays in a dog bed but keeps trying to jump on the beds and sofa in her foster home (she’s not allowed and will get off when told).
She cannot wait to cuddle with her new family! Please consider opening your heart and home to this sweet girl!
Redds was surrendered because her owner developed brain cancer and could no longer care for her. She was then adopted by a couple who returned her after 4 days because she used the bathroom in the house.
