Fancie was a senior girl who lived out her last days in DAR&E's Hospice Care. She crossed the bridge February 12, 2003.
By her Hospice Care Foster mom, Jeannie
Fancie (aka Prancer) was a wonderful old Dobie-girl. She was probably around 13-14 years of age, but still had a zest for life that was so endearing. She loved to play in the snow and would playbow and run in circles around me, barking her old-dog bark. She didn't have a lot of stamina, but that didn't stop her! Her gentle nature deeply touched everyone who knew her.
During her last couple of months Fancie had several seizures. Her breathing slowly became more labored and several tests at the vet's office indicated problems with vascular disease. Fancie endured being chained up outisde most of her life. She had been in DAR&E foster, and then hospice, care for several years and we had promised her that she would never again suffer as she had in her prior life. With no medical solution to make our Fancie more comfortable, as hard as it was, the decision was made to let this special Dobie go. So Fancie, cradled in her foster mother's arms, went gently to the Bridge. She will be missed by many.
