Phoenix was found wandering around a construction site, scavenging for food and taken in to a vet. The Good Samaritan who brought him in Was overwhelmed by the vet costs, so DAR&E opened the doors to this older Doberman. Phoenix was in horrible Condition, estimated around 9 years old, he was terribly underweight and suffering from infections and disease. Every attempt was made by the vets, but Phoenix's condition only worsened. Phoenix crossed the bridge on April 16th, 2004.

DAR&E's efforts weren't lost on Phoenix though. DAR&E did make a difference in making his last days happy...no more scrounging for food and water....only full bellies, no more sleeping on the streets....only soft beds in a warm home, no more being lonely...plenty of love and attention. This brave, sweet boy touched plenty of hearts in DAR&E and will be missed.
