PRINCE

Prince
(01/2002-05/2004)
It took three months to show him that a humans' touch wasn't going to hurt;
He had obviously been beaten throughout his short two year life.

It took three months for him to not run away from our feet when we walked;
He had obviously been kicked too many times.

It took three months for him to learn it was ok to look a human in the eye;
When he finally looked, it was with pure adoration and love.

It took three months before he started to return our gentle love with cuddles and excited barks when we came home from work;
He had learned how to love.

In the three months that he lived in our foster home he blossomed from a scared, skittish dog into a beautiful, full of life, goofy doberboy. He now loved humans so much that instead of skittering away he bounded up and took them gently by the hand. He had found love. He was ready to give love.

It took 5 seconds for his new adoptive owner to let him off leash in an unenclosed area;
Six hours later he was found dead on the side of the road.

Don't make a 5 second mistake that can end your dogs' life.
