Buddy definitely is the epitome of his name. Win his heart, loyalty and trust and you will have a buddy for life!
Want a buddy to cook with he will be right there helping in the kitchen, want a hiking, walking or jogging buddy and he's your boy.
Buddy is a 16 month old black and rust, docked, natural eared boy. He's all kinds of sugar, sweetness and goofiness wrapped up in a 70lb body.
Buddy came from an owner who purchased him from a breeder. Unfortunately, the previous owners did not work very much with him on obedience but we are working on that and he has mastered the sit command. He's a quick learner and very food motivated so training will be a breeze for him. All he wants to do is please you.
He is house trained and crate trained, in fact he's the only foster we have ever had that actually will go into the crate on his own. Buddy loves to chew on on his bones and will carry them around with him until he finds the perfect spot to chew and as of yet we have not found him to be destructive.
He likes other dogs, however, the previous owners did not allow him to play with other dogs, so he is learning to play. Our female can be difficult to get along with and it does not bother him when she snaps at him. Every person and dog we have met he just wants to meet and greet.
He will need quite a bit of help with his leash manners but with time and work he will do well. He does have a bit of counter surfer in him and we are working on that but it also helps us to remember not to leave food out where he can reach. We do not have cats so we are not sure how he will do with one.
His energy level is exactly what you would expect for a 16 month old so a few nice long walks everyday and some obedience sessions keep him nice and calm in the house. He rides well in the care and after a few minutes will just lay down and doesn't make a sound. We also call him super nub. He’s such a happy guy that his nub goes from zero to sixty in one second and he will happily wag it for you anytime.
Buddy is looking for his new buddy? Can you be that person??
Buddy came from an owner who purchased him from a breeder and has ended up needing a new home.
