About Dottie

Meet Dottie, our sweet, precious red girl! Dottie is full of life and ready for her next adventure! Dottie is so smart and full of curiosity; you can't help but love this little girl. Dottie is still very puppy-like so she may jump up to say "Hi" to you. Luckily she is a petite girlie. Dottie is a 1 year old red/tan cutie with perky natural ears and a docked tail.

She loves to run and play when she is outside but is good about calming down inside. She enjoys chewing on nylabones and real bones. Dottie loves other dogs so an in-house playmate or dog buddies for play dates would be great for her. I suspect it’s a "no" on cats.

Dottie is a great little girl who is super smart and wants to please her people. She rides great in a car. Dottie loves to track the scent of the squirrels and bunnies around the yard so she would be great for someone who wants to get into tracking.

Dottie needed surgery when she came to DAR&E because her "lady part area" needed a little external modification. Thanks to our supporters, DAR&E was able to fund the needed surgery and Dottie "little problem" is fixed.  Because Dottie had this issue with her "lady part area" since she was born (which is probably why she ended up at a shelter) it did interfere with her house training, so she is still working on house training. I strongly suspect she was crated excessively so while she will happily go in a crate it is not an effective tool for house training. Due to this she is looking for someone who is retired or home most of the time so she can be supervised and go out often as she continues to learn about house training.

Due to Dottie's love of running and to help with her house training, she needs a fenced in yard. If Dottie fits your lifestyle and you have lots of love and patience/time for our girl, email me to learn more about Dottie.

This Is My Story

Dottie was found as a stray and the local shelter asked us to find her a forever home.
