About Ghost

Hi I am Ghost. I am a 1 1/2 year old black and tan male with a docked tail and natural ears. I am tall, strong boy and weigh around 80 lbs.

I love going on walks and greeting every person and dog I meet. I love giving kisses. When I am very excited, I will try to jump up one people and can get mouthy.  I walk well on a leash most of the time. If there is something I really want to see/track, I will show you how strong I am. I will require some leash training. I am so excited when I get to play with the other dogs. Check out my video on a walk and having fun with a dog I met. (Ghost on a walk to the river: https://youtu.be/-TsAh7jKg8s)

I know some basic commands: sit, shake, down, and come. I still have a lot of that puppy spunk in me. A big yard to wear me out would be ideal.  I am a Velcro dog and I like to follow my foster dad wherever he goes in the house. When my foster dad leaves for work, I have free roam of the house. I sometimes sleep on the couch, my dog bed or downstairs in my crate. I do have a bad habit of begging when I see someone else eating food, so my dad may crate me or give me a puzzle ball filled with food.

Ghost is a well-behaved dog most of the time. He is counter height and can steal stuff off the counter if it smells good. If he is bored, he will grab things such as shoes. He loves toys and bones, so he will need many of those around the house to keep his attention from other things. He likes riding in the car and will gladly stick his head out the window. Ghost always tries to chase my cats, so a household without cats is ideal. He needs an experienced Doberman owner that can provide him boundaries, structure and positive training. He needs someone that is good about following through with training and keeping him inline. Ghost has some resource/food guarding issues which requires some training to teach him he doesn’t need to protect his food. Due to the resource guarding, he should not live in a house with children.
