About Justice

Meet Justice!  Justice is a 6 year old black/tan boy with cropped ears and a docked tail.  One of his ears doesn't stand but that goes well with his funny, playful personality. Justice weighs about 75 lbs. He is a sweet boy who wants to please you.

He is house and crate trained and rides well in the car. Justice grew up with children other dogs and a cat. He should be properly introduced to strangers coming into his home to be around his people. Justice is a medium energy dog who enjoys sprinting around our property or playing with his favorite ball. Check out Justice playing fetch https://youtu.be/eYUo7JnFGQY  He enjoys chewing on bones and antlers. He is very food motivated so his treat ball is his best friend!

When Justice came to DAR&E, the crucial ligaments in both his knees were torn but thanks to generous donations, he has had successful knee surgery on both knees. He is fully recovered and has no restrictions. In his video,https://youtu.be/NlHkPn4z85k you can see that he runs without any discomfort now that he has "bionic" knees!

Justice was surrendered to DAR&E by his owners because he tends to lick/chews on himself when he's bored. Its typically one of his front feet or lower leg which once it gets sore causes him to continue to lick it and that becomes a cycle of behavior that prevents the sore from healing. Justice's saving grace is that, unlike most dogs, he is perfectly comfortable wearing an Elizabethan collar when he isn't being occupied or supervised. The "cone" is the only sure way to ensure that he does not continue to have lick sores. Vets have tried drugs but they are not effective in preventing the behavior. Even though Justice happily puts his head in the cone for a treat, his family found it annoying to have a dog around that sometimes needed to wear a cone so they didn't want him any more.

Justice isn't perfect but he has a lot of love and devotion to give to someone who will open their heart and home to him. He is hoping for a quiet home with someone who has time for him.  If that person is you, send me an email so we can talk about our sweet Justice.
