About Nitro

Meet Nitro!!! Nitro is a very sweet 10 month old male Doberman.  Nitro has natural ears and a docked tail.  He is a beautiful boy with soft brown eyes. Nitro currently weighs about 70 lbs but will fill out a bit more as he matures. Due to his young age, Nitro requires a fenced yard.  Nitro is used to having someone home with him most of the time so he is looking for a home where he will not be left alone for long hours.

Nitro came to DAR&E due to his owner having health issues and could no longer care for Nitro. Nitro has been dearly loved by his family his whole life but his family never took him to many places so he is very timid when put into a strange environment. He is more afraid of a strange environment than he is of strange people. Nitro is never aggressive, he just shuts down and doesn't want to move. He isn't being defiant, he is just afraid so he feels safest by not moving.  An adoptive home will be a strange environment at first. If you need for him to go somewhere that he is afraid to go he does not object to being carried

Once Nitro gets comfortable, he is your typical young dobe. He likes to play with other dogs or just hang out with his people. His previous owners says he loves to swim and is also good with cats and kids.

Nitro is a very sweet and affectionate boy. He is crate and house trained. He is very food motivated so is happy to go to his crate for treats. He sleeps in his crate at night and stays in his crate when I am not home so he does not get into puppy mischief. Nitro is still very much a puppy who gets excited and is still learning self control. Nitro got his vaccination boosters this week and after a little encouragement he did walk into the vets office and had his exam and shots and walked back out like a good boy. I was very proud of him. He isn't very familiar with cars rides so needs to be hefted into the car. He will jump out on his own. If you are a patient person who understands dogs that need an adjustment period, send me an email so we can talk more about this sweet boy.
