Ginger is a shy two year old girl, black and rust female looking for someone to call her own. She quickly forms attachments to “her human” and wants to spend all of her time snuggling and cuddling with you.
She lOVES her crate and will happily sleep there during the night and rest there during the day. We leave the door open and she goes in and out as she pleases. She is very sweet tempered and easy going with people that she knows and trusts.
She is a bit on the tall side and will sniff at counters or tables, but isn’t a counter surfer. A simple no or leave it will deter her. Ginger is good with children and with other dogs. She is VERY smart and is quick to learn what you want from her. She walks very nicely on the leash (our 12 year old son regularly walks her), she will let you know when she needs to use the bathroom, and knows her name and will come when called. Ginger will sit and down on command. She is learning how to shake paws and to wait when she is given dinner. She will benefit greatly from group obedience classes to help her socialize with other people.
Ginger is all Doberman, she is very aware of her surroundings and is quick to alert you if she hears something out of the ordinary. She is a bit hesitant of men, but with some treats and lots of positive reinforcement she will come around. Positive reinforcement is a must for her. She would do best with a home with a big yard where she can run and play or can take her on long walks daily.
Ginger's previous owners dumped me in a drop box at the shelter.
