About Kingsley

Meet Kingsley, a 3 year old male red doberman with natural ears and a docked tail.  Kingsley weighs approximately 80 pounds.

Kingsley loves to be with his people and also loves to play tug-of-war or lick a frozen kong filled with peanut butter or cheese for dogs.  Outside, he enjoys running around and exploring in our yard.  His favorite thing to do is find the biggest stick in the yard and show it off. He doesn’t realize that he’s a big “puppy” that plays a little rough sometimes.

Kingsley loves going on walks and walks well with a harness.  He rides well in a car, and he did excellent at his vet visit.  Kingsley is house-trained and sleeps through the night.  He is food motivated and adjusts well to a routine.

With a treat incentive Kinglsey goes into a crate. Once in the crate, he settles down well.  If he can hear you walking around the house while he is crated, he will whine to let you know he’s still there!  We have not been crating Kingsley for long periods of time because we understand he was crated a lot in his former home.  Instead, we have been alternating between the crate and a spare bedroom when he is unsupervised.

He does need to be supervised in the house because he chews on items, such as blankets and pillows if he can.  Although he is three, he has some puppy tendencies and his forever home will need to continue to work on his training, including reminding him not to jump on people when he first meets them and working on basic commands.

Kingsley will do best in a house where someone is home most of the day to give him love and exercise.  He seems to be dog friendly and would also be fine as an only dog.

Kingsley is the perfect addition to an active family who wants a playful companion.  Kingsley is in Maryland.
