Hi, I'm Nettles

About Nettles
Nettles is a 1-year-old male black/tan Doberman who has an eager wag, a loving lean, and a soft side that soaks up hugs and affection. He is neutered and has cropped ears and a docked tail.
With positive reinforcement training, Nettles has thrived in his foster home. He easily goes into his crate and it’s his place of comfort and calm. Currently, he is being left in the crate twice a day for approximately 3-hour increments.
Nettles is still working on confidence with stairs and, working at his own pace, he uses the wooden stairs at his foster home. Some nice things about Nettles are: 1) he walks very well both by harness and by collar, 2) to date other than curiosity he has not reacted to squirrels, other dogs, or people 3) with greetings he is not jumpy.
When Nettles first came to us, we weren’t sure whether he had ever had the opportunity to play with toys, but he is catching on quickly! His favorite toy is a crinkly bag of doggy popcorn. He has not chewed up a toy but as he’s a young pup, he should be supervised with soft toys. After having some slow introductions, Nettles has interacted and played well with two separate dogs each with a known history of playing well with other dogs.
While Nettle’s background is unknown, one thing is obvious, Nettles seeks companionship and family. If you would like to make Nettles part of your family, a willingness to use a crate and prior experience with a puppy either directly or through a puppy of a close friend or family member is very desirable. We want to keep Nettles on the right track as he enters his teenage years. Nettles is being fostered in Maryland.
