About Onyx

Onyx is a sweet, cuddly 9 1/2 month old dobie puppy.  She is black/tan, weighs about 65 lbs and has cropped ears and a docked tail.  Onyx has an adorable cowlick on the back her neck.  Onyx is available for adoption by approved applicants that have Doberman ownership experience and a fenced yard; no e fences.

As puppies mature, their personalities emerge. Unfortunately as Onyx began maturing, she decided she didn’t want to share her home with other dogs. The other resident dog was there first so after trying everything including working with trainers, her owners decided that it was best for everyone if Onyx found a new home where she could be the only pet.   Onyx has had quite a bit of training but because she is a puppy she needs to be reminded of her training. Onyx will benefit from a home where she has structure and boundaries. Onyx is very affectionate and great company so she will make a lucky someone a terrific companion.  She loves to run around the yard and will play a little “fetch” and a lot of “keep away” :)Check out her video below. After a good romp she is happy to sit with you under a shade tree and enjoy a nice day.  Onyx’s problems were with having dogs in her home but in general she likes other dogs so she may be able to have non-resident playmates as long as they accept that she is the princess. Onyx rides great in the car and is house and crate trained.  She doesn’t love her crate but she accepts it after she takes a minute to let you know she isn’t happy about it. Onyx is still a puppy so she should be crated when home alone. She enjoys chewing on nylabones and natural bones.  She will destroy soft toys so no stuffed toys. Onyx will suckle her dog bed. It seems to pacify her.  Onyx loves belly rubs.

If you have dobie experience, lots of love and time to give and will be happy with a single pet, email me to talk more about our sweet, cuddle bug, Onyx.
