About Ruby
Meet Ruby, a four-year-old black and tan female spayed Doberman weighing approximately 75 pounds.
Ruby is a beautiful, active, people-oriented Doberman who is looking for an active and structured home. She is very loyal and affectionate, and a true Velcro dog. She loves activity and showing off her tricks.
Ruby is very intelligent and knows her basic commands. She is fully house-trained and loves the unlimited access to her dog door. She loves going for a ride in the car or nice long walks. She’s not a very big fan of fetch, but does love a good game of tug-of-war.
When first meeting new people or new situations, she is very cautious and unsure about the situation and may even be a little mouthy. With patience and confidence, she will then be comfortable and affectionate towards the new friend. Ruby is a true Velcro dog and will help you with any activity you’re trying to complete around the house or be your supervisor.
With other respectful dogs, Ruby is generally playful and loves to socialize. She does have a lot of energy and doesn’t realize her size. She can be a little rough with smaller dogs, trying to get them to play. She is very food-motivated, so it is important to keep any unwanted snacks out of her range. Ruby does have a lot of energy and does require daily physical activity or mental stimulation to remain balanced and content once her energy demands are relieved. She is very affectionate and loves to snuggle under the blanket and watch TV.
Ruby has come a long way and does do much better than she used to on a leash, but could still use some positive reinforcement. She does love puzzle toys and frozen food treats. She does well staying in her yard with the use of an electric/GPS fence.
Ruby would do best in a home with no other female dogs. She has not been exposed to any cats and prefers an adult-only home since she plays a little roughly. The new home does have to be committed to her daily exercising and enrichment.
Ruby is a very loyal dog and will give unlimited affection. She will be your biggest fan and love bug.
